Hydraulic Hybrid

This is one of the areas where the high power density of fluid power lends itself to rapid energy capture and re-deployment, and substantial energy savings. When you brake a vehicle, you can take the kinetic energy that is currently lost and store it in a hydraulic accumulator and immediately tap into that stored energy rather than use the engine to reaccelerate the vehicle.

In field tests, this technology has saved up to 40% in fuel costs.
